Celebrationworks is a multifaceted theatre arts and educational nonprofit organization for all ages founded by Carol Roper. Celebrationworks provides a supportive environment for the development and production of original plays, and theatrical work. Celebrationworks produces original and thoughtful plays for Kids, age 6 - 12;  stimulating, and educational comedies and dramas for Teens, age 13-18, and new, original and under-performed plays for adults. Celebrationworks provides encouragement and space for actors over 60, who are often under-utilized in our youth oriented society.  As part of our on-going commitment to bringing art and theatre directly to all the community, Celebrationworks brings plays into Nursing homes and hospitals, libraries, parks and recreation centers at no cost to the audience.

 

CAROL ROPER is an award-winning writer who has worked with, Academy Award-winning actor,         Robin Williams. She is the author of the well-received, metaphysical novel, God’s Bread  (Baked Fresh  Daily), and, ALLIGATORS, a full-length comedy of family rivalry, death and alligators. A lifetime member of the Writers Guild of America, she taught writing at the University of Southern California and the University of California, San Diego. Her anti-war play, The Current Rage received the prestigious Office for Advanced Drama Research Rockefeller Honorarium and had productions in San Francisco and in New York.   SHAKESPEARE'S BROTHER ( The story of Wills Shakespeare's lost teen years as told by his younger, better looking brother Gil) weaves real life characters with fictional ones from Shakespeare's plays to create a comedy for all ages.
